What To Do When A Good Night's Sleep Is A Distant Dream...

Indeed, in thecase of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia, disrupted sleepcycles are not only a common symptom - they may be one of thecontributing causes. And while sleeping pills may sometimes be necessary as an emergencytactic, on a long-term basis they simply serve to disrupt yoursleep cycles further. Enter: the Brazilian Toe Technique. I'd never heard of this, eitherHaving just learned this, I've only had a chance to try it out on afew clients and on my daughter. I've had excellent results with myclients, but they're usually nodding off long before I get to thistechnique anyway. My daughter, though - that was a real challenge! She's anextroverted teen who is frequently bursting with much too muchenergy to fall asleep at bedtime. So I tried the BTT. 15 minuteslater - lights out! And not only that - but the BTT reduces cancer treatment side effectsI know when I needed chemo some years ago, friends would ask tocome along to help in any way they could. I strongly suggestthat when a friend offers help, you ask them to do this techniquefor you while you're getting the chemo. It also helps with post-operative swelling in the legs. What's really going on here anyway?How does the simple technique you're going to learn now do allthis? Basically, it's re-aligning your polarity. Each of your cells has a negative and positive charge. So do eachof your tissues and organs - right on up to your entire body. Andwe haven't even mentioned your meridians and other energy systems. When there is chronic stress, or some sort of shock to your system,this polarity can reverse, or shut down altogether in some areas.When that happens, your physical and energetic systems start goinghaywire. The BTT corrects all that. Let's Do It!Although you can theoretically do this on yourself - and you'llprobably be asleep before you're done! - you may have too much painor not enough flexibility to use this as self-help. So you'll needa friend to do it for you. These instructions are for you, Helper 1. Your friend is lying in bed - I think if they're lying face upit will be a little easier for you, but they can lie either face upor face down. Make sure you're comfortable, too. 2. You will be working with BOTH the right foot and left foot ofyour friend simultaneously. 3. Your thumb will ALWAYS be on the BOTTOM of the toe you'refocusing on. 4. During each step, one of your fingers will be resting on thethumbnail of the toe you're focusing on,. 5. Always begin by resting (not pressing) the 3rd finger of yourhand on top of the toenail of your friend's 3rd toe. Remember thatyour thumb will be on the bottom of your friend's toe. 6. Hold for 3 minutes. Feel free to hold longer if you like, butyou need to hold each position for at least 3 minutes for thepolarity to align. 7. Just as the 3rd finger should be on the 3rd toe, the 4th fingershould be on the 4th toe, and so on, with the exception of your bigtoe (your 1st toe). While your thumb is on the bottom of the bigtoe as usual, your 2nd and 3rd fingers rest on the bottom cornersof the nail of your friend's big toe. 8. To move from one toe to the next, always move your THUMB to thebottom of the next toe first, and THEN move your finger to the nexttoe. 9. Do this for each toe in turn. This is the order in which youshould hold the toes: 3rd toe, 4th toe, 5th toe; 2nd toe, 1st toe. Good night!
